Actually, trolling is good

You can tell from that clip that nothing said here is serious. And that’s really the point.
The Internet is supposed to be fun. And we’re not supposed to agree on everything.
But the norm on LinkedIn is to be serious at all times. And make the most easily-agreeable takes possible.
Everyone talks a big game about being “human” and “authentic''. But there’s nothing less human or authentic than being serious and agreeable, all the time.
By nature, I’m sarcastic. So is Mitch Sullivan. The overly-serious, overly-agreeable crowd sometimes views this as “trolling.” (I admittedly conflate the definition with my Saturday Troll Posts™️.)
But what it really comes down to: can you back it up? Do you have a point?
You can be snarky and argumentative and empathetic and helpful, all at the same time. In fact, most humans are. In the real world anyway.
Don’t write “for LinkedIn.” Lean into yourself. You’ll make real connections and build real friendships. That will turn into new business relationships. Partnerships. Learning opportunities. Sales.
And yes, it’ll even help you hire.
