Alexa, what's the case law on compulsory vaccinations?
45-second read | Chime in on LinkedIn here
Employers are at the boss level of the pandemic. The final test. The one where we’re suddenly public health experts. Or something.
The CDC's announcement last week - fully vaccinated people can ditch their masks indoors - put us in a position that we knew was coming. Just not this quick.
In case you were living under a rock this weekend, the dilemma is:
We’re adults and can make our own life decisions.
We’re using the honor system if people are vaccinated or not. (And how much do you really trust people?)
Not everyone is able to get a vaccine yet.
Some have children who don’t yet qualify.
Not everyone is comfortable with an emergency use authorization vaccine.
Fist fights over masks are somehow a thing.
So...how to balance that when setting return to work policies?
Employers are people. We figure things out as we go. Or copy what everyone else does.
We all became experts in remote productivity. Then remote team management. Remote interviewing and onboarding. Virtual events. Real estate renegotiation.
I don’t have an answer here. Yet. But I’m sure by next week someone will figure it out.
Will copy 100%.
