"Are You Open To Feedback?"

If not, you are now...

:30 read | Chime in on LinkedIn here and Twitter here

Quick tip to make your life easier when rejecting candidates:

👉Before you tell them why, start with “are you open to feedback?”

No one says no to that. Why does it work?

3 reasons why people react negatively to feedback:

  1. They’re not prepared for it.

  2. They perceive it as unsolicited advice.

  3. They disagree with it.

That question takes the first two out of the equation. They’ve given you permission and they’re ready for it.

They may still disagree, but they’re far less likely to bite your head off.

Make it a habit. It works.

(Thanks to Sarah Brekelmans for suggesting this.)
