Iâve seen kick-ass marketing agencies that have a hard time attracting talent. And successful inhouse shops that arenât really on marketing job seekersâ radar.
Why? No I seriously donât know, Iâm asking you.
Whatever youâre doing to market to customers...why arenât you doing it for hiring? Especially when youâre hiring marketers?
If youâre running paid social campaigns, doing live events, hosting a podcast, or whatever: marketers will notice.
Itâs kinda their thing. Theyâll dig it. Plus theyâll have a better understanding of how you work.
Iâll double down here: everybody will notice. Not to go off on a tangent, but itâs one of the reasons why Nate and I are down on traditional employer branding. Itâs not some other, special thing that requires a brand new wheel.
Tweak the audience, tweak the message, and the same methods will work.
If you suck at marketing I guess thatâs a different conversation entirely...
