I’ve seen first hand companies who talk a big game about culture. How sweet their company is. What they stand for. Values. Cool shots of the foosball table. Maybe they even bought their way onto a “best places to work for” list.
Then their employees contact us as they’re running out the door. The picture they paint is quite the contrast.
This is my issue with employer brand.
Doing any brand work when you have a broken company is completely pointless. And hiring someone to do the soup to nuts workup with EVPs is insane.
If you want to make hiring easier? Focus on being a great place to work. The things that retain employees also attract new ones.
The holy trinity of destination firms:
Good culture
New challenges
Solid pay
It's not rocket science. If you have that, you don’t need to worry about your image. You just talk about what you’re doing.
Better yet, have your employees do that. They're going to tell the truth of it all anyway.
