The hard part about making sarcastic hot takes is when some real sh*t happens, I wonder if people will think I’m joking.
No jokes this time, sadly.
SCAM ALERT: someone is fraudulently using the Hirewell name for a phishing scam targeting job seekers.
Add this to the list of “things I never thought I’d have to address.”
We were recently contacted by multiple people to verify if either (1) an interview confirmation or (2) a job offer they unexpectedly received from “Hirewell” was valid.
👉They were not. It is a scam.
They were contacted via Text or WhatsApp messages that may have referenced an Indeed posting. They were asked to complete a 14 page, official looking application that asked for a lot of personal information.
It’s clearly some sort of phishing scam. And it’s very troubling that someone would use our company name to take advantage of people with some sort of fraud scheme.
So please note:
👉 Page 1 of the fake application is above. If you receive this, do not respond to it.
👉If you receive an text or WhatsApp message from someone claiming to be from Hirewell confirming an interview you’re unaware of or offering a job out of the blue, that’s not us.
👉Reach out to us if you’re unsure.
We’re taking steps on our end. But sadly we can’t stop all criminals from doing illegal sh*t.
Stay alert.
