LinkedIn could improve the quality of content with one easy step:
Give users the ability to “see all posts” from anyone they choose.
It would change the mindset of what content creators focus on. Right now, there’s no guarantee delivery. People who love your ideas want to see them? Many never will.
So the “best” way to maximize your audience? BS algo games.
Easily-agreeable content. Memes. Fake stories. Motivational nonsense.
Things that don’t provide any real value but the masses will jump on. That's why LinkedIn looks more and more like Facebook.
I get it on an individual level. A single user may not post junks all that often. But when everyone does it, it completely takes over your feed.
What would ‘see all posts’ do? Create a ‘super-follower’ status. The game is no longer about appealing to the masses, but appealing to your real audience on a deeper level.
You'd be motivated to add value in every post.
But it doesn’t exist. So I did the next best (better?) thing: the Talent Rants and Sarcasm newsletter.
