Going to give everyone a peak behind the curtain, which I didn’t do on today’s LinkedIn post.
Long story short: company blogs are boring to write. Time consuming. And no one reads the damn things. More importantly, the team hates writing them.
So we’re taking on a new approach.
We do a ton of video (obviously). We’re in the process of making a media site (not yet launched) that will house all of it. Now, the traditional thinking on blogs is the SEO value. But there’s a way around that as well: post the damn transcripts.
The real benefit is it is waaaaaaay less time consuming. That prep call you have to discuss the topic with a colleague? Just record the conversation and that’s the post. Social, YouTube, your web site. Done in a fraction of the time and will be far more engaging.
It’s an experiment. But when your content strategy involves getting the whole organization on board, things have to be an easy lift for everyone.
I digress. Here’s what I posted. Let me know what you think.
The Hidden Job Market is real. But there are ways for job seekers to access it.
One of those is Slack.
I’m a fairly new Slack user myself. But I went down a rabbit hole a few months ago and got up to speed pretty quick. Barclay Burns and I had a conversation about how savvy job seekers are benefiting from it.
I hope this helps.
