Viewer question from the Employer Content Show. What should internal recruiters do to pipeline talent during the holiday slow period?
I reviewed my answer (here). Content challenge: Sometimes the most valuable stuff is the most boring. I won't rehash it all. But it’s about proactive relationship building:
With people you placed -> get referrals, refine your pitch
With hiring managers -> understand their vision, identify gaps on the team
With pending candidates -> this really should be self-explanatory...
Fine I guess I did rehash it. With tactical content, there are usually two camps:
People who already do it well think "meh."
People who suck at it also think “meh.” They’re too busy doing other work, they don’t have time for this.
Getting to the point re: group 2. Relationship building IS the work.
Many recruiters are constantly putting out fires because they’re doing double work from a lack of alignment. Build relationships and the pipeline builds itself.
The ridiculous part on my end: this isn't "what to do during the slow season." This is what to do every day.
