I’m so over The Great Resignation. (To be fair, I think it’s over itself anyway.)

The talking point I mean. It was stale a month after it was invented.

Pretty much anyone who really wanted to make a job change in the last 18 months, did.

And no one knew this better than companies themselves. They’re the ones who’ve lost people. Or, fueled it by hiring a ton.

At this point, they don’t care. They either:

  1. changed their business plan to make it work

  2. never had a problem

  3. made their beds. RIP.

So moving on: I’m also over the new new in job economics takes. The OMG, the-world-is-ending, we’re in a recession narrative.

Which, according to my social feed, is just warming up. Despite the fact that no one actually knows anything.

When it comes to market predictions, I’m like everyone else. Impressively average.

👉I call the market correctly 50% of the time. I'm that good.

Having worked through 3 recessions I’ve learned that:

  1. you don’t know for sure you’re in one until it’s well underway

  2. you can’t really do anything about it

  3. it’s not the end of the world.

Stop worrying. Jump on opportunities when they come up. Diversity your business before you need to.

And please: never use "The Great Resignation" in a sentence again.
