A lot of people don’t know that we (Hirewell) place internal recruiters at our clients. And if they do, they may not realized it is out #2 most frequently filled position on a yearly basis.
What’s #1? Well, duh. Software Engineers.
Now the crazy part of 2020 vs 2021:
We’re currently having our biggest year ever for internal recruiter placements.
Yet in Q2 and Q3 2020, we placed a total of ONE.
The market for internal recruitment went from dead to absolutely nuts.
Even this year, our Q2 recruiter placements went up 57% from Q1.
Same time frame: Engineering hires went up 32%.
And based upon the searches themselves, that dev hiring is what’s driving it.
The big silicon valley firms have talent acquisition teams that dwarf most start ups’ entire headcount. And every new ‘unicorn’ (hate that term but Matt used it in this clip, blame him) is trying to catch up.
I even know one tech recruiting firm that was outright purchased by a big SV player, just to boost their hiring. (Never thought I’d see that in a million years.)
