Hi. Recruiter here. I can't steal your employees. For a few of reasons:
1. I can't steal what you don't own. They're your employees, not your property.
We'll come back to this ad nauseam.
2. I’m not a thief. Ok ok there was that one time in my early 20s where I inadvertently swiped a few pint glasses from the local bar. Details of the night were sketchy. 🤷
Lessons learned. I will definitely not steal your employees now. Which as we established, cannot be stolen. Because they are not your property.
3. I'm not actually hiring them anyway. So I'm definitely not stealing them. (Which we established can't be done. And I wouldn't do.) Some other company is doing that. They're the ones totally-not-stealing your totally-not-property.
I felt the need to point out these obvious true facts because employee theft has become the latest recruiter social media flex. Recruiters thinking they’re exceptional thieves. Like Hans Gruber in Die Hard or something. (Pre-fall.)
Rest assured: all we're doing is building relationships. And making friendly intros between your not-property and some other company with allegedly better career opportunities.
This is how we earn money to pay for goods and services. Legally.
Tldr - Recruiters: we're law abiding professionals doing important work. Helping companies grow and people find jobs. Definitely not thieves.
Hope that clears it up.
And let the record show no one at Hirewell would ever jump on this silly trend. Certainly not Joel Lalgee. 😂
