95%* of both software engineer and internal recruiter hiring was full remote in Q3 2021.
The engineering part wasn’t a shock. It was 100% in Q2 2021.
But internal recruiter hiring was only 50% full remote in Q2. That escalated quickly…
What’s driving it?
There’s a trickle-down effect. Big, rich tech companies are hiring developers all remote to take advantage of the full talent pool.
Everyone else had to follow suit.
Hiring continue to be difficult. So big tech started ramped recruiting hiring as well. Again full remote.
And everyone else had to follow suit.
Two takeaways:
👉1. You may have thought hybrid was the answer. But it’s just as limited by geographic talent pools as all-onsite.
You can talk all you want about returning to the office, but it'll make hiring harder.
👉2. Remote first, hybrid optional is the new winning formula.
We’re seeing more and more companies hiring on a full remote basis. But having office space for those who want some real life face time. Totally optional.
Right when we thought WeWork was dead. 😂
