I occasionally see “repurpose your old content” advice. It'll help you fill the content calendar. But I hate it. I’ve tried it and it’s stale, every time.
Take this morning for example. I had a calendar reminder to repost something I did on old-school recruiting metrics. Tldr they’re overrated and need a rethink. I’m firm on that.
But looking at my 3 month old take: I’m bored. Not because it sucked. But because I already know it. I’ve grown past it. And anyone who follows me has too.
Instead I spent 5 minutes thinking up a few new metrics hiring teams could use:
What percentages of interviewees came from inbound sources? (employer brand)
Survey non-hires on their perception of the company, post interview process. (candidate experience)
Survey new hires on how the position/company met expectations. (messaging accuracy)
Survey hiring managers on how new hires met expectations (interview effectiveness)
Did I fix the recruiting world just now? Nope. But 5 more minutes gave everyone, myself included, something new to think about.
