Onto more serious business. That clip came from a podcast appearance I was on recently with O’Brien McMahon’s People Business podcast. It was an especially fun guest appearance for me because I’ve known OB (as his friends call him) for 10 years now.
Not from work.
Or networking circles.
But from the gym.
Except I’m like way, way stronger than him, which is the important takeaway here.
We talked about Hirewell’s marketing, the state of the recruitment market, remote work, how dumb Posting About Posting™️ is, and how imposter syndrome used to be called low self-esteem.

Next up was my second appearance on Marcus Edwardes’ Recruiting Trailblazer’s podcast. If you’re not familiar with Marcus, he’s a recruiter and he’s snarky. Luckily he’s also British so you can tell which of us is doing the talking.
The whole series is insightful and well done. If you want to hear from a variety of leaders in the recruiting space, throw it in the rotation. For this 1 Year Anniversary Special, he also had Vanessa Raath, who always has great insights.

No hyperbole here: the bull market on hiring recruiters is like nothing I’ve ever seen in the HR space.
Everyone hiring for anything right now knows how hard it is to find people. And how hard it is to find the people who find people.
So naturally I saved the best or last. (Yes I'm biased)
In our 4th and final (for now) edition of the What Candidates Want to Know series we’re going to hit on an area that’s near and dear to my heart: recruiting recruiters.
Yes, recruiters are job seekers too. And as always, it’s a lot easier to attract top talent if you know how they make decisions.
