Want to make more money in sales? Stop selling to the C-Suite and start selling to Tech leaders.
I’m kidding. Probably. It isn’t that simple. But the data on Average On-Target Earning for salespeople by Department Sold To (all experience levels) is still interesting:
What can we gather from this?
1. It absolutely matters what field you go into.
Same title, same function, different expected outcome. When you’re making a job change, there’s a ton of factors that can impact your overall success.
Stuff like this isn’t obvious, I thought C-Suite sellers would make the most by a mile. Nope.
2. It’s another indication that tech is eating the business world.
Tech leaders are probably smiling, as well as dreading the idea of more inbound cold calls…
3. Selling directly to consumers is the worst (not that I had to tell you that.) 😂
4. Data insights are fun. This is all courtesy of our colleagues at Rainmakers (Michael Ferguson and his team). The amount of sales data they have is incredible. And can be a huge benefit for both job seekers and hiring companies who use their platform.
