Spotify made waves with their Work-From-Anywhere program (here). Home, office, coworking space, all your choice.
The kicker: everyone gets paid San Francisco and New York salaries. No matter where they live.
Meanwhile, Facebook and Twitter are getting dunked on. And rightfully so. They post record profits in a pandemic. Then reduce remote salaries based on location. Trash.
Let’s be honest: most of us aren’t even there yet. We’re in the “how much office space do we even need?” phase of figuring it all out. And that’s ok.
But here’s who I really don’t envy: the dinosaurs who insist everyone has to get back to 100% onsite.
I don’t know how the hell they’re going to hire anyone. Their employees hit us up looking to leave, every day.
