So I posted this on LinkedIn on Saturday (here) but didn’t send it out in this lovely newsletter because I was on vacation and sending emails is too much like work.
So when LinkedIn Stories launched, I did this stupid bit where I’d read off some bad Glassdoor reviews and have people guess the company. I’m told it was funny. But no one really watched Stories so it was a waste of time.
But I got bored last week and decided to bring it back. It will be an occasional stand in for my Saturday Troll Posts™️.
The rules are simple:
1. I read some bad Glassdoor reviews.
2. You guess the company in comments.
3. First person to get it right gets an awful prize. If you actually want it.
Except this one was too easy and over in 5 minutes. I’ll try to make it a little more challenging next time.
In other news, The results are in: we were more productive in 2020 than we were in 2019. But that’s not stopping a lot of companies from announcing they want everyone back 100% of the time.
Because suddenly corporations value culture over productivity. Ok, sure.
When you peel back the layers further, there are other factors at play. Not everyone has the same ability to work in a set physical location. And are we setting up an employee class system based on proximity and not accomplishments?
So Jeff Smith and I are doing another live event tomorrow:
The 10 Minute Talent Rant, Episode 20, "Mandatory Onsite Builds Bias Not Culture"
