Show of hands: how many of you would work for free? Then maybe get paid, but only if your customer really digs your work?
Let’s say you’re a developer. Or a content marketer. A carpenter. Anyone really.
Your customer won’t commit to anything up front but will gladly pay if they decide to use your work.
Maybe you get productive feedback as the project goes along. Maybe not. Depends on the client.
Plot twist: they made the same deal with 4 other developers/content marketers/carpenters. Turns your odds of collecting a paycheck are 20%. Less actually. Maybe they don’t use anyone’s work!
I guess if you decided to go down this path, you’d charge waaaay more you need to. Gotta make up for the wasted effort somehow. Go big or go home.
Let the record show only contingent recruiters put their hands up. Everyone else thinks this idea is absolutely absurd.
Contingent search. One hell of a business model.
