40 second read, 3 min video watch on LinkedIn here
Nate and I surveyed a few dozen sales peeps recently. We asked about how they make decisions when changing jobs. Virtually every single one wanted to know more about who they’d report to.
What’s their leadership style? Their experience? Their personality? Did they carry a bag before?
Everyone’s been burned by a bad manager. They’ll avoid it again at all costs.
Let’s switch gears for a second. Besides job seekers, who’s on LinkedIn all day?
Recruiters. And salespeople.
It’s a captive audience. LinkedIn makes their money off their Recruiter and Sales Navigator products. Everyone you want to hire is there.
The microphone is all set up. You just need to talk. Talk about your sales philosophy. About leadership. How you make people successful. What gets you excited to go to work. How people can improve their sales game.
Your role is to drive revenue, but really it’s to find and retain the best people to do it. And this is the biggest opportunity for that.
Besides...I'd love to see some sales thought leaders who are still getting it done emerge. Should be easy to stand out against the sales bro ‘consultants’ and ‘advisors’ on there...😂
