“We’re growing.” -Every company that's hiring.
Why are you growing?
What’s causing that? What initiatives are you doing?
Did you get funding? Who funded you? Why did they? How does that impact operations? What expectations do you have now? Are they realistic? What happens if you hit them? What happens if you miss? How does this affect me when you make an exit?
Is the product just taking off? Why is that? What are you doing that’s different? Why is it resonating in the market?
Why are you filling the position? Who was in this role last? Why didn’t it work out? What’s their name? Can you connect me with them?
Is it a net new role? How did you determine it? Have you hired for this in the past, or elsewhere? How do you know you need it? How are you determining the level/profile? How will you know you’re making the right hire?

Talked to an experienced sales pro this morning. Every company he’s ever interviewed with said “we’re growing.”
Except the one he’s working for. They answered everything else.
