Why sh*posting should be your primary social strategy for business:
My friend Benny Mathew asked me to chime in on a discussion re: Linkedin usage and mental health. And I was like “damn, my comments are so spot on I need to share this with everyone I know!” I’m that good, I know.
His post is here.
Long story short: the LinkedIn feed is garbage because all social media feeds are garbage. But LinkedIn is arguably worse because there’s a prevailing notion that everything there needs to be both “serious business” and overly positive.
Combine that with people who are already struggling with their job search, or to make a sale, or to start their business, etc., and it’s a powder keg for depression.
But I wouldn’t know. Not because I’m a sociopath immune to feelings (jury’s still out) or because my life is perfect & carefree.
It’s because I treat Linkedin like the joke it is. And I mean ‘joke’ quite literally.
4 reasons sh*posting > dork posting:
You'll avoid all of the mental health traps Benny outlined because you're constantly reminding yourself that nothing there is serious. It ain't the real world.
It's fun. And therapeutic.
AI literally can’t do it. Everyone will know it's actually you saying it.
No one cares about or remembers anyone's dork takes. Literally no one wants to work with or buy from a goober.
Log off and enjoy your weekend. Or post a dank meme in comments.
(Almost forgot: This has been another exciting edition of Posting About Posting™️)
