Highest praise I can give: tech peeps are savvier job seekers than everyone else. Not because they’re the smartest (though many I know will insist they are 😂)
But because they’re in the highest demand.
They get hit up with the most opportunities. They juggle the most interviews.
They have the most reps at this.
And what have they determined? They want to skip to the part where they hear from the CTO. It’s the conversations with leaders that matter the most.
I’m sure tech leaders don’t think of themselves as recruiters. Probably not the first thought they have when they wake up in the morning.
But it doesn’t change the fact that a little bit of time investment on the front end - attracting candidates at the beginning of the process - goes a long way.
Everyone is going after the same people. And tech candidates don't have enough time in the day to consider everything that comes their way.
👉Getting leadership involved up front is your edge.
So you can either take advantage of that edge...or some other companies will.
What am I suggesting? Recruiters collaborating with tech leaders to create any of these:
Tech blogs
Podcast appearances
Video interviews
Thought leadership presence on social
Input into up front recruiter messaging (which can link all these things)
